Brian Swanson has run a successful independent design practice for the past 30 years -- designing, consulting and implementing a diverse range of projects, including: shopping center planning, retail stores, luxury retail, restaurants, cafes, hotel interior concepts, and residences.
Having worked in the U.S., Canada, South Africa and the U.K., Brian brings many years of international experience and expertise to the successful design firm he established in 1986.
An award-winning designer, Brian's strength is his ability to envision exciting, unique design solutions. His numerous and diverse projects illustrate a passion for design and planning that gives Brian's work a singular, always thought-provoking aesthetic.
Primarily a specialist in retail design, his portfolio includes such notable projects as the U.S. Naval Academy Visitor Center Gift Store in Annapolis and 12 luxury stores in the Wynn Encore, with Steve Wynn, in Las Vegas. He recently designed Tyra Banks' residence and corporate offices in New York.
Between 2003 and 2011, he consulted with Barteluce Architects & Associates (BAA), New York, offering them a white label design service in the planning and design of many major projects.

Developed interior and exterior design for Century 21 department store, Cortland St. NYC (opposite World Trade Center).

- the planning and interior concepts for Tyra Bank's new residence in New York City

- master planning and retail concepts in 1095 Ave. of Americas and 42nd St. for Blackstone Properties
- award-winning design for the multi-level Fortunoff on 57th Street and adjacent Bergdorf Goodman department store
- designs for several independent luxury retailers on Madison Avenue (New York), Rodeo Drive (Beverley Hills, LA), Michigan Avenue (Chicago), and Collins Avenue (South Beach, Miami)
- Won design competition for Lacoste's new flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York
- Won design competition for Hugo Boss' shop-in-shop concept to be implemented in Macy's department stores in the US
- Created Esprit's new flagship building concept in San Francisco
- Planning and design of Ballard Design Home prototype store in Atlanta GA
